The Frenchie Facts
No. 1:
Breakdown the Basics
The French Bulldog has an AKC breed popularity rating of no. 4 out of 195 breeds. We frenchie people believe there was a voting error because they are actually NUMBER ONE and we have ascertained that through 56 years of dog fanatic lives plus our parents before us, that this in fact is true by experiencing soooooo many breeds, yes we have the book of dogs and yes we have had Or friends/ family have had theexperience of many of them! This breed grows to an average height of 11”-13” and an average weight of around/under 28 pounds. however there are exceptions as with any breed and some can be 18 and some can be 50 to just give an example! They have a very adaptable, playful, and extremely smart temperament. French Bulldogs are very alert, aware, and responsive.
No. 2:
Grooming, Care, & Health
A Frenchie’s short coat sheds minimally. Weekly brushing will help to remove shed hair and keep him looking his best. French Bulldogs are notorious for their adorable wrinkles. A Frenchie’s facial folds should be kept clean and dry to avoid any concerns.
No. 3:
Frenchies & Swimming
French Bulldogs have a front-heavy structure, therefore, most are unable to swim. However, there are exceptions and some are quite good at it if taught how to. Beware of drowning because if always put in water with a life vest it gives them a false sense of security and they’ll jump in when you aren’t looking and not be able to stay afloat. The best thing if you are going to be around water a lot is to make sure they know how to reach the shore, steps, ladder etc just in case they fall in on accident. A Frenchie should never be left unattended near a tub, pool, or body of water to keep them out of potential danger.
